Rotten fish skeletons? Really?...

Rotten fish skeletons? Really?

Yes, really. Because that's what happens when fish try to climb over barbed wire fencing, apparently.

Listen: I know the above image doesn't make much sense. But there's something to it that keeps you looking at it, right? And, this may be an abstract reason to pick a winning poster this week, but, see, here's the thing: The same can be said about Harlem, the band this poster is promoting. Brash, in your face, hilarious on Twitter, with song lyrics that don't really make sense, Harlem's punk-ish garage rock filled with juxtapositions like the above image.

And, though it may be tough to read, all the pertinent info is on this silk screen poster designed by Michael Fuchs of Under Pressure--the opening acts, the date of the show, the venue, what have you. Sure, the font may be kind of tough to read, too--but it matches the rest of the visual of this image so well that we don't really mind squinting.

Yes, there are rules, folks. Sometimes, though, you need to break them.

But not this one: If you want to see one of your designs--or a poster made for your band's show, or really, any image you like and thinks this nod--drop us an email with the image right here, and be sure to do so at least a week in advance of the show. Thanks!
