Even more accolades for Dallas' St. Vincent today--plus some for the similarly Dallas-bred Neon Indian, too.
Both acts, already clear 2009 darlings in the eyes of Pitchfork, landed on the taste-making site's Best Tracks of 2009 list this morning, with Neon Indian's "Should've Taken Acid With You" popping up at No. 74 on the list and St. Vincent's "Actor Out of Work" coming in at No. 52. The list is 100 tracks long--but only the first (or, depending on how you look at it, last) 50 songs on the list were unveiled this morning. Given the depth of of each of these acts' 2009 full-lengths, don't be surprised if either earns another mention as the list grows...
St. Vincent, meanwhile, earned further honors over the weekend, being named Chicago Tribune rock critic Greg Kot's top album of the year, as revealed yesterday evening on the broadcast of Kot's and Chicago Sun-Times pop critic Jim DeRogatis' co-hosted radio program Sound Opinions, which airs locally on KXT-91.7 FM.
