The folks at Pitchfork have taken the week of from reviewing new music--although, to their credit, they've been quite busy with another entertaining task: Counting down the top 500 tracks of the '00s.
(Sidenote: The locally based Gorilla Vs. Bear blog also released its favorite tracks and albums of the decade over this past week.)
And, by my count, at least three acts with North Texas ties got some love from Pitchfork's list: St. Vincent's "The Strangers," comes in at No. 492 (for another rendition of the song, check out the above clip our friends at Subservient Experiment clued us into today); Midlake's "Roscoe" checks in at No. 309; and Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" charts at a very respectable No. 21.
