With 11 full-length studio albums under his belt, and too many guest appearances to count over the last 20 years, it is somewhat ironic that a passing phrase of veneration made by Lil Wayne in a jailhouse interview back in July is what finally has the mainstream hip-hop community taking notice of Midwest rapper Tech N9ne. It should come as little surprise, then, that the pair have alluded to a possible collaboration that will likely take place when the Cash Money president is scheduled to be released from prison in November.

Tech N9ne is no stranger to collaboration. In fact, his latest album The Gates Mixed Plate, is the third installment in his "Collabos" series in which he's been joined by the likes of Devin the Dude, Kutt Calhoun, Krizz Kaliko and dozens of other acclaimed underground emcees. It's not that Tech N9ne necessarily needs the attention; he has after all managed to carve out quite the underground niche and managed to sell more than a million albums completely independently over the duration of his career. But like Tech recently told Vibe magazine, "My own quest was always to get my music out to everybody in [the] world." And, by all accounts, being associated with Weezy is certainly a way to accomplish that task these days.
