A quick update on the annual The Sound and The Jury competition for little-known acts to make their way onto the Austin City Limits Festival lineup: Two pop-loving Dentonites, Andrew Tinker and Erin Austin, have made it into the final round of competition, with former Polyphonc Spree member Tinker, who we met some time back now, amassing the most votes in the last round of voting, and the nomadic Austin, who, in addition to New York, San Francisco and Denton, also apparently calls Tulsa and Minneapolis home, coming in third.

The last round, which will feature the top five vote-getters performing in a live Battle of the Bands-like deal at Antone's in Austin, takes place on Wednesday, September 30.
