Meant to mention this yesterday, when the press released landed in the Unfair Park in-box, but got otherwise sidetracked: The AFI Dallas International Film Festival has a new presenting sponsor, NorthPark Center. Which is a big deal because? Well, according to the release, the AMC NorthPark 15 -- which, in the past, hosted some of the bigger red-carpet and big-ticket events, including the 2007 Hot Fuzz Q&A pictured above -- will now become "even more of a home for this film festival," says festival co-founder and artistic director Michael Cain. Over the fest's first two years, the Angelika and Magnolia have hosted the bulk of the screenings.

And the AFI's box office, once housed in Victory Park, will also move into NorthPark when the fest gears up at the end of March. NorthPark will also house "one of two film festival lounges, galas, and host additional red carpet entrances and events for the film festival," says the release. So where's the fest this year? Oh, yeah. NorthPark.
