Last night from the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in D.C., site of the Texas State Society's 2009 Black Tie & Boots Inaugural Ball, a good Friend of Unfair Park sent the following message: "The Texas ball is not only a celebration of a new president, but a display of wealth via giant breast augmentations." As a doctor, he's speaking purely professionally (and, of course, not about the Kilgore College Rangerettes pictured above).

Angela Hunt, in her morning tweet, writes that she had a ball at the ball attended by the likes of Denzel Washington and Ron Kirk: "Ball was so fun! Great music, tons of people. Off to the Inaug. Have no idea how long it'll take us to get over there." If another Friend's sunrise-in.-D.C. text is any indication, a while: The streets are filled with "lots of drunk, happy people feeling the love." (Photo courtesy Gaylord Hotels/Stephen Elliot)
