Today in the 5 o'clock hour 105.3 The Fan will announce a new five-year contract extending its exclusive partnership as the official radio home of NASCAR and Texas Motor Speedway through 2013.
As part of the new agreement, The Fan will broadcast live all seven major racing events held annually at TMS. I'm not admitting NASCAR drivers are athletes, mind you, but theirs is indeed a sport. A very popular sport. The Fan will also broadcast NASCAR races throughout its Sprint Cup Series.

I've been tooting this horn for months now, and in putting two and two together The Fan's NASCAR announcement obviously paves the way for the moving of select Sunday afternoon races in the fall to its sister statition - KRLD 1080 AM - to make room for Dallas Cowboys' games. Therefore, an announcement of the official Fan-Cowboys radio flagship station pairing is imminent.
