So says a press release just in from KTVT's Lori Conrad, who says the CBS owned-and-operated will bump up CBS 11 News This Morning half an hour beginning Monday. Interesting move, considering that KDFW-Channel 4 just did the same thing with Good Day two months ago. Scott Sams and Ginger Allen, of course, have been a team since July '07.
Says CBS 11 and TXA21 president and general manager Gary Schneider, it's a traffic thing, as in: "As our highway congestion grows, people are waking up earlier to beat the morning traffic to work. Now the CBS 11 News This Morning team will be on the air a half hour earlier, with local news, weather and traffic to help our viewers start their day." It now begs the question: When do WFAA and KXAS make the move to 4:30 a.m.? I hear Mike Snyder's available.
