Closing Up the Storehouse

Noticed here yesterday that Storehouse, which has 12 locations in Texas (three of which are in Dallas area), is going outta business. Says nothing else about it on the Web site, save that everything must go for 15 to 30 percent off, which is cheap, but, then, so's the furniture...

Noticed here yesterday that Storehouse, which has 12 locations in Texas (three of which are in Dallas area), is going outta business. Says nothing else about it on the Web site, save that everything must go for 15 to 30 percent off, which is cheap, but, then, so's the furniture. But, like Tower Records, the Storehouse's parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and wound up in the hands of a liquidator that's looking to clean out the stock pronto. Maybe Storehouse and Tower can get together to off load all their product; Brook Mays too. Three--it's officially a trend, right? Everything's going out of business. So much for "making good design accessible." --Robert Wilonsky
