But I dunno, something about putting Tony Romo's health at risk just doesn't sit right.

Tonight at 7 at Hebron High School a team of old Cowboys will play a team of current Cowboys in a basketball game benefitting Behm. Very cool. Wait, is it?

As a kid I remember how giddy I was when the Cowboys' band of basketballers - the Dallas Hoopsters - came through Duncanville. Watching Too Tall Jones set picks and Drew Pearson dunk was the highlight of the off-season.

But now, with a little perspective, do we really want Romo, Marion Barber and Patrick Crayton risking injury in a non-football activity?

I'm not saying the star-studded event won't be spectacular.

OLD: Eugene Lockhart, Tony Dorsett, Michael Irvin, Daryl Johnston, Michael Downs, Everson Walls, Drew Pearson, George Teague, Omar Stoutmire, Mario Edwards and Darren Woodson.

vs.

NEW: Patrick Crayton, Martellus Bennett, Marion Barber, Miles Austin, Isaiah Stanback, Tashard Choice, Sam Hurd, Ken Hamlin and Tony Romo.

Romo playing golf is one thing.

But, remember, he missed time last season with a pinkie. And Barber's toe? I know you could get hurt walking across the street, but basketball incorporates running and jumping and landing and colliding and ...

Maybe I'm being old-mannish about this, but how would y'all feel if Romo re-breaks his pinkie catching a chest pass from Sam Hurd?
