So reports this morning's New York Times, which takes a tour of the Dallas Cowboys' new home with Gene Jones and finds the walls adorned with works by the Whitney-feted Lawrence Weiner, Franz Ackermann (who's collected at the Museum of Modern Art), conceptualists Mel Bochner and Daniel Buren, Matthew Ritchie and Olafur Eliasson, who's responsible for The New York City Waterfalls. All the pieces are site-specific and were selected by the brightest minds in local art collecting: Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth's chief curator Michael Auping, Dallas Museum of Art's Lupe Murchison Curator of Contemporary Art Charles Wylie and collector Howard Rachofsky, among others. Says Gene, "This is a fabulous cutting-edge building, and we thought it needed art." As opposed to, oh, a neon Miller Lite sign.
