According to a missive on the band’s MySpace page, Denton’s own Current Leaves, one of North Texas’ best young bands, is calling it quits. They leave behind one excellent platter of psychedelic country -- the criminally under-heard Pastense -- as well as one forthcoming swan song, the title of which remains unknown, and extensive unpaid debts to the estates of Gram Parsons, Alex Chilton and the Rolling Stones.

Donations to cover said debts can be made through the band’s MySpace page, where Pastense is still available for download. --Noah W. Bailey
