Been watching some CNN today and was a tad alarmed by the headlines:

“Problems at polling stations!”

“Record voter turnout!”

“New York’s 'Naked Cowboy' endorses McCain!”

Frightening stuff. So I scurried down to my local polling place at McKinney’s Valley Creek Elementary School and found …

No one. An absolute ghost town.

Swear, I was the only voter in the entire cafeteria. The whole process upon which our country is founded took me, oh, 1 minute, 57 seconds. Or, about 1/10th the time I waited in the Taco Bell drive-thru on the way home.

I don’t know if it was all the early voters (party poopers) or merely the assumption that Texas will remain red until it’s dead (party poopers). Whatever, it was sort of a letdown, honestly. Expecting a political frenzy, I instead got all the ambience of an Amish library.

Too early for me to project a winner but from the voters I polled on site, Obama held a slight 1-0 edge over McCain.

Voting process going as swimmingly for you guys? – Richie Whitt
