134th Civil District Judge Anne Ashby

Dave Palmer, a disabled veteran living in Folsom, California, ain't happy with the way some Texas legislators and judges are spending their campaign donations -- so much so he's filed a heap of complaints with the Texas Ethics Commission. Among those singled out: 134th Civil District Judge Anne Ashby of Dallas, who had to explain to the Houston Chronicle why she used $1,830 from a campaign account to fly to Las Vegas to renew a couple's wedding vows. Well, duh: "I renewed wedding vows for supporters who have been significant in my political career. My husband paid for his own transportation and other expenses." Other locals about whom Palmer's filed complaints: State Rep. Yvonne Davis and State Sen. John Carona. --Robert Wilonsky
