Holding candles and cupcakes, Lisa Stone's friends met to sing, pray and shed tears last night under the billboard they hope will help them find answers as to why Stone has been missing for more than three months. The vigil was alternately solemn and angry -- verses of "Amazing Grace" echoed across the Dobson Floors parking lot before some from the group, comprised of Stone's Mesquite High School alumni friends and members of Dallas' gay community, showed publicly the frustration they've been feeling for the past several weeks.

Mark Anthony Gray, a friend of Stone's deceased brother, spoke, calling for continued vigils and increased attendance -- this candlelight meeting was noticeably smaller than those in the past. He also had a message for the person out there -- and Stone's friends believe there is at least one -- who knows what happened to Lisa: "I hope they don't sleep at night."

Police have not officially ruled Stone's disappearance to be anything more than a missing persons case -- without a body, there's no homicide. An investigator acknowledged to the Dallas Voice last week that finding Stone's remains would break the case open, though in the worst possible way.

More photos of the vigil are after the jump.

Beverly Williams Scaling, who attended Mesquite High School with Lisa Stone, handed out balloons to be released during the vigil.

Crimestoppers have told Stone's friends that their 3-week-old billboard has generated leads, though they haven't said which, if any, are viable.

Candles were lit in prayer for Stone.

Mark Anthony Gray expressed both sadness and frustration for the loss of a woman friends remember as loyal and bubbly.
