Yesterday: Body Worlds. Tomorrow: Batter up.
On the heels of the highly successful exhibition delving into the human body, the Dallas Museum of Nature & Science’s next endeavor will be a historic examination of baseball. In conjunction with the State Fair of Texas, starting Sept. 28 and running through Jan. 13, 2008, the DMNS will host Baseball As America, the most significant exhibition of baseball artifacts and history ever assembled. If you never make it to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., this will be the next best thing.
What you will see: baseball firsts, such as the first ball pitched by Cy Young in the first World Series in 1903; historic photographs and artifacts from Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson and Joe DiMaggio. What you won’t see: anything Rangers-related other than a strikeout ball from Nolan Ryan or maybe a steroid vial from Rafael Palmeiro. --Richie Whitt
