That's the word from the Dish Network, which just sent word that, nope, it's not gonna drop regular ol' FOX from its line-up after all. And, matter of fact, those 19 regional sports nets axed on October 1, including Fox Sports Southwest, are back; so too FX and the National Geographic Channel. Neither side's saying how much money's involved in the settlement, which had both sides pointing fingers at each other over carriage fees.
Says Dave Shull, senior veep of programming for Dish, in the just-sent statement: "After prolonged negotiations to reach a fair deal, we're pleased to enter into a long term agreement with Fox and to assure our customers that they can continue to enjoy these channels." Adds FOX's Mike Hopkins, the man who keeps the affiliates happy: "I want to thank our partners at Dish Network who worked tirelessly to help us reach a successful conclusion." Long story short: If there's still a World Series come Monday, it'll be on the Dish Network. That's a big if.
