If you happen through the intersection of Beckley and Jefferson in the next few days, you will see this scene -- two 20-foot-tall cargo containers painted white. The installation, which is being put into place at this very moment, is not yet finished; Jason Roberts, the man in charge, says the ground around the Twin Towers tribute still has to be painted white. He also notes it was done at the behest of Ralph Isenberg, who'd contacted the Better Block-ers about fashioning some kind of September 11 memorial near the Bank Tower in Oak Cliff.

Matter of fact, I see here that Isenberg wants it to be more than something you merely drive by. As he explained to Roy Appleton earlier this week, "We hope people will bring flowers, teddy bears, candles and we'll have chalk. This is going to be spontaneous. If it catches on it will be a great statement that Dallas cares."
