Daniel and Megan, frustrated by crapped-out WiFi all night, send this brief dispatch from the Democrats' victory bash in Bishop Arts. More from them tomorrow, with plenty of pretty pictures.

Leading the crowd in triumphant cheers of "Yes, we can!" and "Yes, we did!," State Sen. Royce West and plenty of other local Democratic officials hit the stage in Bishop Arts shortly after CNN called the election for Barack Obama. The crowd went wild, of course and on cue, screaming and wailing and hugging each other. One woman was so overcome with emotion she literally had to be carried away by a friend. "Thank God!," she screamed. "Thank God!" Then, of course, she fell into her friend's arms.

As John McCain conceded the race, the crowd gathered around the TV screens inside the galleries, shops and bars. But a stillness has fallen over the crowd, as Democrats now wait for Obama to speak around 11 p.m.
