While we await some call-backs for items forthcoming ...
Last night, in the comments of Monday's KZEW item, someone asked (yet again) if anyone out there had a copy of Peter Frampton's January Sound Studios sessions from '75. "I wanna know where the GOLD at," writes one Friend of Unfair Park. Well, as a matter of fact, you need not look any further than right here.
Turns out, just a few weeks back it turned up on the KZEW tribute page -- at least, 11 minutes and 37 seconds of the show did, anyhow. But it does include the entirety of "Do You Feel Like We Do," and, yes, we do now. From the description:
February 5th 1975 - Peter Frampton was in town supporting Johnny Winter at Dallas Memorial Auditorium on the 4th of February. The next night, Frampton makes local rock history with a live KZEW broadcast from January Sound Studios. The live version of "Do You Feel Like I Do" from the concert became an instant hit as the number one requested song on the ZOO for 1975, causing Frampton album sales to soar in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, nearly a year before Frampton Comes Alive was released. KZEW's Mark Christopher jokes, "Jeez, Peter Frampton should STILL be mowing Ira's lawn to this day to thank him!"I'll keep looking for the whole thing. But forthcoming, because I love you, another in-its-entirety-KZEW concert broadcast. Because nothing says "Happy New Year!" like reliving 35-year-old concerts.
