Later today, a longer recap from last night's opening of the AFI Dallas International Film Festival at NorthPark Center, where Rian Johnson at last gave Dallas audiences a first look at his long-awaited The Brothers Bloom, starring fellow attendees Adrien Brody (an Oscar winner) and Rinko Kikuchi (an Oscar nominee). Brody, who picked up the AFI Dallas Star award and treated it with the grateful reverence associated with slightly more prestigious accolades, was also tremendously gracious during our post-screening Q&A, where he was flanked by the affable, engaging Johnson and a mostly silent Kikuchi -- who hadn't seen the film with an audience till last night and was moved to tears by the experience.

Patrick Michels has the slide show forthcoming, and it's pretty terrific, star-studded stuff. Even has a cameo from Mayor Tom Leppert, looking unexpectedly professorial. That standalone moment in a moment.
