On Monday, Central Dallas Community Development Corporation exec director John Greenan told Unfair Park that there were several entries among the 96 sent in to the Re:Vision Dallas competition worth building, even those that didn't finish among the top six. Today, we get a very detailed look at one of those almost-maybes: Chicago-based Stawn.Sierralta's Eco-Valley, described on the firm's Flickr page as "a Zero-Carbon city block that produces all of its own energy through renewable solar and wind harvesting." The building would feature 500 units and serve as "an urban farm."

And, yes, I'm gonna run every single entry I track down, because, for whatever reason, I'm particularly taken with the imaginative, thoughtful, cockeyed possibilities outsiders see for a craptaculous parking lot in downtown Dallas.
