Ten pages behind the Fred Baron story you'll find one about -- wait for it, wait for it -- Jenny the elephant and her potential move to either Mexico or Tennessee. Very catch headline too: "What to Do With Traumatized Elephant Stirs Up Dallas." Can't say the Association of Zoos and Aquariums does itself any favors, though, not with one of its curators and chairmen insisting the size of an elephant's space in a zoo isn't nearly as important as what you do with it; apparently, this could all be solved with some bright colors and multi-function furniture. Perhaps this whole thing's best summed up by an outsider, Les Schobert, retired curator of animals at the Los Angeles Zoo, who says, “If we stripped everything away and say what is in the best interest of Jenny, the sanctuary would win hands down. But then you have to add in all the politics.” --Robert Wilonsky
