Dallas Fed prez Richard Fisher

The Federal Reserve's beginning a two-day sitdown in D.C., during which the Federal Open Market Committee's expected to cut interest rates again -- by half a point, according to best guesses. And among the committee's voting members is Richard Fisher, president of Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas on N. Pearl Street.

Till today, I didn't know much about Fisher, whose name pops up frequently in economic-news stories. Alas, thanks to the Associated Press money-player profiles today, we get a better picture of Fisher -- who, turns out, is a big fan of John Maynard Keynes, Winston Churchill and Robert Earl Keen, go figure. Also likes classical music, "except for Russian composers." --Robert Wilonsky
