Texas Trib's editor Evan Smith just posted his lengthy chitchat with three state House first-termers -- all Republicans, all from 'round these parts (Dallas's Stefani Carter, Mesquite's Cindy Burkett and Grand Prairie's Rodney Anderson). The full sitdown runs a little more than 37 minutes, but Smith has trimmed out a few excerpts -- including this 6:36 clip involving cuts to public education. Anderson and Carter in particular point to "a lot of inefficiencies on the administrative side." Says Carter, instead of talking about laying off teachers: "Why aren't we talking about superintendents? Why aren't we talking about administrators?"
