A good Friend of Unfair Park, up in D.C. for Barack Obama's inauguration, was on Capitol Hill this a.m. to pick up her tickets for tomorrow. Alas, all did not go as planned:
Hundreds of people are standing outside capitol offices to get tickets. Many were turned away from congressional offices empty-handed. People were turned away from Eddie Bernice Johnson's office thinking they had tickets reserved under their name, only to find out this morning they were first-come, first-serve and all gone. They even called in Capitol Police to disburse the crowd and closed her office.More to come, as our Friend is sending photos from the scene shortly.
Update: Looks like a certain someone had no trouble getting her tickets from EBJ's office ...
