File this under Things The Great Ed Bark Never Coulda Said About WFAA When He Worked At The Dallas Morning News: "Justin Farmer and Jackie Hyland seemed happily under glass, bantering with almost shocking ineptitude on a remixed Daybreak." And this: "Holdover weatherman Greg Fields clearly has been ordered to serve himself sunny side up. He used to be acceptably agreeable, but now he's almost Tickle Me Elmo." And this: "Incumbent traffic stopper Alexa Conomos likewise is in heavy makeover mode, a Belo babe in the grand tradition of -- well, that didn't use to matter."
It goes on and on and on as Uncle Barky takes to task Channel 8, its new Victory Park digs and the empty heads filling the see-through space. Really, I don't think Bark thinks much of Farmer and Hyland. Or maybe I read this wrong: "It's the relative newcomers, Farmer and Hyland, who make one wonder whether the show's new transparent surroundings are accentuating their glaring transparencies." And, apparently, Farmer yesterday called Alexa "Leslie." Maybe he meant "Lexi"? Hey, I'm just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have no idea why. --Robert Wilonsky
