Pete reminded me late yesterday that I hadn't mentioned the press release we received earlier this week from the Hard Rock Cafe's New Jersey-based publicist concerning the joint's opening date in Victory Park. So here 'tis: July 15. Can you smell the excitement? No? Maybe that's just the $14.95 burger.

We'll have some preview photos sometime on July 6, following a hard-hat tour, but this week's press release echoes the March 18 announcement concerning the build-out at 2211 North Houston Street: "The 8,900-square-foot cafe features a 265-seat restaurant, outdoor dining with patio seating for 40, as well as a Rock Shop featuring Hard Rock's limited-edition merchandise." No mention of a performance space -- unless you count the quite-nearby House of Blues.

Update at 9:58 a.m.: I'd sent Kristen Hauser, the publicist, a note to confirm that there is no performance space. She sends back this reply: "To answer your query, the Dallas cafe does not have a dedicated live music venue; however there will be performances held at the Dallas cafe space to support key Hard Rock programs (i.e. March on Stage, Pinktober)."
