No. 2: Tortilla Soup at Fearing's

Dean Fearing's famed tortilla soup has evolved over the years, but one bite reminds us of the first time we tasted this Southwestern delight more than a decade ago. There's smokiness and heat in this classic, complimented with chunks of silky avocado and crispy tortilla strips. It's good enough to be bottled and sold to the masses, which is how Fearing has won over soup fans outside of Dallas. If you think this is just some ordinary soup, we say, "No soup for you!" That just means there's more for us.

Fearing's at the Ritz Carlton 2121 McKinney Ave. 214-922-0200
