From Wild Parties to Family-Friendly, Your Guide to New Year’s Eve in Dallas

Be honest for a moment. Do you remember your New Year’s resolution from last year? Many of us start off with noble goals, and we all do a decent job following through the first few months. Or days.

The final day of the year begets the year’s most difficult question. We’re not talking about self-reflective ponderings about whether you have kept that resolution you read about in that one magazine. And we’re not talking about the also difficult question of what your resolution should be for next year.

If we’re being real, there is an annual question that proves much more challenging: What are your plans for New Year’s Eve? Are you going to spend an absurd amount on a ticketed event in exchange for an open bar and a night to remember? Or subvert all societal pressure to end the new year in a flash of drunken sparkles and curl up on the couch with your parasocial best friends Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper? Should you embark on a more laissez-faire New Year's Eve strategy, hoping to somehow get a glimpse of fireworks from almost anywhere in the city?

Living in Dallas brings the excitement of options, but also the stress of choice. Don’t let the indecision get you down, though, because we’ve got your back. We’ve gathered Dallas’ New Year's Eve events from most laid-back to the most lavish.
