After a long wait (and we really mean long), AF+B, the latest restaurant by Consilient Hospitality, will open this Friday, January 10, in Fort Worth. We first reported on the restaurant all the way back in November 2012, when Jeffery Hobbs announced his departure from Sissy's on Henderson Avenue to join the Consilient group.
Later that year news broke that Hobbs was out, and Jeff Harris from Bolsa was taking his spot, and still it was another three months before the restaurant finally announced it was opening. The 180-seat AF+B will assume normal operating hours right away.
Expect beautiful hardwood floors, white oak ceilings and fancy pendant light fixtures as well as a horseshoe-shaped, walnut bar and a window into the kitchen. The food has initially been described as "fresh and elevated neighborhood tavern." (Read: sexy fish and chips.)
Expect a lot of local ingredients, too. Consilient has been gobbling up local chefs known for embracing farm to table cooking for a while know. Last year they nabbed Tim Bevins, who made a name for himself at Craft, and Graham Dodds who started Bolsa's locavore menu before moving on to Central 214.
Get hungry.
