Ben & Jerry's annual Free Cone Day was scheduled for April 3, but tornadoes forced some local shops to play a make-up game, and that making up goes down today.

Three local shops are partaking in the festivities: Plano, McKinney and the Shops of Highland Village.

The Plano store has lined up some interesting/celebrity scoopers. Mark Fistric of the Dallas Stars will scoop at 1 p.m. Kent Rathbun will be there at 4 p.m., and Moe Prigoff from A&E's Storage Wars Texas from 5 to 7 p.m.

This event benefits the Susan G. Komen North Texas Affiliates (with sales beyond what gets scooped for free) -- a partnership that, given recent events, may not have happened before the hippies at Ben & Jerry's were bought out a decade a go.

Ben & Jerry's spokeswoman Liz Stewart says "looking beyond the recent controversy, Susan G Komen does do a lot of great things for communities. So we're happy with the partnership."
