The folks behind Sugarbacon are bringing a new quick-service restaurant to McKinney: Butcher Board, which will open May 25 in the space next door to Sugarbacon.

Located off the square in downtown McKinney, Butcher Board will serve "chef-created sandwiches and sides in a rustic industrial and casual interior," according to a press release. Johnny Carros and chef Jon Thompson created a menu of 10 sandwiches based on "hand-carved cuts from large roasts of meat and bread from Village Baking Co.," the release says.

“Our sandwiches mostly focus on large, hot roasts, that are hand carved to order," Thompson says. "When you walk into Butcher Board, the first thing you see are large cuts of juicy meat being sliced. We bring together many of the best aspects of a barbecue joint, a deli and bakery. ... We smoke brisket, pulled pork and turkey breast all using traditional barbecue methods."

The new spot will also serve craft beer by the bottle and draft, according to the release.

Butcher Board , 216 W. Virginia St., McKinney, open 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.—3 p.m. Sunday
