Your poor liver. If the slew of holiday parties you've been guilted into attending have you desperately needing a night off, you should avert your eyes, close this window or otherwise prevent yourself from reading one more line in this post.
This Sunday, bartenders from Dallas and Fort Worth bars are getting together to raise money for Trigger's Toys, a charitable organization that gives toys to children stuck in hospitals. From 6 p.m. till 2 a.m. The Standard Pour in Uptown will serve as a sort of "pop-up bar," hosting bartenders five at a time to shake up cocktails. Every hour a new set of bartenders will take their turn, charging $10 a drink with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Trigger's Toys.
There are 45 bartenders signed up, including Kyle Hilla (Bolsa), Ivan Rimach (Mexican Sugar), and Alex Fletcher (Victor Tangos). Michael Martensen recently announced that Omar Yeefoon, Rocco Milano (Barter), Eddie Eakin (Boulevardier), Jason Kosmas, Sean Connor (Mexican Sugar), Michael Martensen, Charlie Papacino (Windmill Lounge), and Lucky Campbell (Abacus) are attending as well.
Bottom line: There are a lot of top bartenders participating in an event that gives off a whole lot of feel-good, and you're more than likely going to stop by for at least one cocktail, which will likely turn into 10. Good luck with your Monday morning
