The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association is seeking a new executive director, according to an ad posted this week on Craigslist.
Former executive director Jamee Jolly, who joined the organization in 2007, resigned last fall to become president of the Plano Chamber of Commerce.
The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association, a local chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association, works to strengthen local restaurants through education and lobbying efforts. The association has 900 members, although president Phil Willis indicated in his 2010 "State of Your Association" address that the group plans to focus on growth in the coming year.
"There has been over the past few months an ambitious, and successful, undertaking of new marketing tactics and goals for a steady recruitment effort," he said.
The organization hopes to attract new members with its revamped website, set to debut later this spring. The press page of the current website hasn't been updated since 2008.
Sandy Mitschke, vice president of corporate relations for the Texas Restaurant Association, refused to comment on a hiring timeline.
"We do not talk about personnel issues to the media," Mitschke said when reached by phone. "What is your interest in this? I don't want to answer any questions."
And to make her point perfectly clear, she hung up.
