Alex Fletcher is filling up a magic mystery bus for a six-stop cocktail tour through Dallas. The GM and head barkeep at The People's Last Stand says he wanted show off his friends' fancy drinks, so he rented a bus a drew out a map. Probably on a bar napkin, where most of life's great ideas are conceived.

The tour starts at The People's Last Stand at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday, then heads to Central 214, followed by Tate's, The Standard Pour, The Black Swan Saloon and, alas, The Cedars Social. Each spot will pour a humdinger of a drink. It's basically high-end bar hopping on a chartered bus. Tickets for the evening are $60 each, which includes six cocktails and the ride.

Fletcher says there will be water on the bus and some snacks for nourishment along the way. He's capped the bar pilgrimage at 40, and all of the bars are obviously expecting the bus, so there shouldn't be too much haggling for a seat.

While making out with Gabe Sanchez at the Black Swan isn't part of the tour, Fletcher says that you just never know what might happen. Also, while it could be awkward logistically, an end of the run through Jack-in-the-Box is "always a possibility."

If you have nothing better lined up for next Thursday, you can reserve a spot by emailing [email protected] or calling 214-263-5380. The bus will roll back into The People's Last Stand parking lot at 12:30 a.m., so be sure to have mom there to pick you up.
