I'll bet you've heard enough about bagels, already. Coming in on the coattails of the craze for coffee and bread, bagels are especially popular because each one only has about a hundred calories. That's without cream cheese of course, and without cream cheese, a bagel is just another hockey puck. Chesapeake Bagel Bakery offers bagels every day of the week, every which way--bagel breakfasts, bagel sandwiches, hot and cold, frosted bagels, sweet bagels, seasoned bagels. But the winner (weiner) on the menu--available for take-away, too--is the bagel dog, a hot dog wrapped in bagel dough.

Chesapeake Bagel Bakery, 5360 West Lovers Lane (in Inwood Village), 352-2945.
