Just because school is out doesn't mean you shouldn't get your learn on. This Wednesday, Sigel's at 5757 Greenville Ave. will host a tequila "festival and tasting." But, isn't every tequila tasting a festival?

The difference here is it's free. That's certainly a game changer. All you'll need to do is RSVP and you'll receive a "passport" that allows you to taste any 12 of the 85 different spirits available for sampling.

Wow, the options (listed below). I hate to be the wet blanket here, but it would behoove you to do a bit of research. You'll get so much more out of the event. Look for some brands that might appeal to you based on estate, history, style or price point. Then think about your plans for tequila: Do you prefer to sip alone? Do you buy a big bottle for all your friends and co-workers (like this)? Or do you strictly want to make margaritas?

There are a few great tequila-tasting sites to help you get your smarts on. Like Taste Tequila, Tequila Gringo and Ryan Kelly's Tequila Examiner, plus there's an app. The Roving Tequila Matchmaker can put the tequila world in the palm of your hand. And honestly, if you can't find the girl/guy of your dreams, the right tequila is a noble substitute.

Reps for the different distillers will be on hand to answer your tequila questions. But, let your palate do most the talking. It's just like snow cones: Everyone has their personal favorite (although it's really hard to beat coconut).

The event is from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 26. RSVP here.

Below is a list of the tequilas being sampled: 1800 Agavero Asombroso Avión Cabrito Camarena Casa Noble Cazadores Centinella Clase Azul Corzo Don Eduardo Don Julio El Jimador El Mayor Gran Centenario Hacienda de Chihuahua Herradura Hornitos Kah La Fogata Mezcal Lunazul Maestro Doble Milagro Montelobos Mezcal Partida Patron Puro Verde Sauza Tanteo Tequilame Tres Caballos Tres Generaciones Z Pepe
