Do you have $600 and nothing else to do? This evening, III Forks is hosting a six-course, 100-point wine dinner. Courtesy of Guy Stout, master sommelier, the dinner will feature wines that cost a lot more than the ones they sell at Trader Joe's. They may even taste better. Reservations are required, because you can't just waltz into a $600 wine dinner like it's Dairy Queen and expect service, apparently.

You know those sad stand-up comedy bars? The ones that smell like nachos and tears? Don't go there. Go to Community Beer Co. instead, where they will host the Brew-HaHa Comedy Series. For $20 (in advance, $25 at the door), a ticket to Brew-HaHa gets you entry into and a mini-tour of the brewery, a comedy show featuring, you know, comedians and stuff, as well as three beers and an obligatory commemorative pint glass. Food trucks will also be there. What it be: Brew-HaHa Comedy Series

Let me guess. You don't like okra. Yeah, neither does anyone else. But somehow this benefit cook-off has made it to year six. Oh wait, we know how. Because it's got music, beer and people who know their way around this much-maligned vegetable. Get your mucilaginous veggie-eating on and see who will be crowned “Okrapalooza Champion of the World" for $45. All the money raised from Okrapalooza goes to the Promise of Peace Community Garden, so put your qualms aside: It's slime-time.
