Skinnygirl Wine is Now Available at Sigel's. Let's All Get Wasted and Gossip.

I don't know a ton about wine, nor do I know much about "real" housewives in New York City (shout out to Oak Cliff Housewives, who truly keep it real). But word on the street, according to Jasper Russo at Sigel's, is that Skinnygirl wine "HAS ARRIVED!" I pass along...

I don't know a ton about wine, nor do I know much about "real" housewives in New York City (shout out to Oak Cliff Housewives, who truly keep it real). But word on the street, according to Jasper Russo at Sigel's, is that Skinnygirl wine "HAS ARRIVED!"

I pass along this information because I watched as hundreds, yes, hundreds, of women stood in a torrential downpour last year for the chance to meet Bethany Frankel, who was in town promoting Skinnygirl margarita. One adoring fan even arrived at Sigel's at 7 a.m. to be the first in line to meet Frankel. She waited in that line for six hours.

Another woman with a broken foot and large cast waited in line for over an hour, braving the rain all while pushing a baby stroller. Yes, with a baby in it. (The baby was totally safe and dry.)

Russo told me they're trying to work out another tour stop for Frankel to promote her 100 calorie per 5-ounce wine. He'll keep us posted.

Regardless, Skinnygirl wine is available in local Sigel's at this very moment for $12.99 per "approachable" bottle. They're all California wines, and there's a red blend made primarily with Syrah, a white blend made primarily from Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio and a rose blend. These 2011 vintage wines ring in at 12 percent alcohol. I'll take seven.

One caveat here, according to Wine Spectator, 100 calories per 5 ounce of wine is actually normal: "The average caloric content of most wines is 100 calories per 5 ounce glass, according to past estimates by the U.S. Department of Agriculture."

But, if you're looking to get skinny from wine, surely there's an answer at the bottom of one of those bottles. Drink up.

According to Forbes.com, since Beam Inc. (Jim Beam) purchased the Skinnygirl label in March 2011 for $100 million, the portfolio has grown by 1,000 percent.

Skinnygirl vodka should hit stores in May.
