We've all seen the awesome boom in Plano's Asian food scene (here's a beginner-friendly primer for the uninitiated), but you can get a taste of it first-hand this weekend at Plano AsiaFest. Now in its 15th year, the day-long festival has Asian food, music, fashion and dance — including lion dances — vendors, a tea ceremony and other cultural performances. And it's free to attend.

After searching far and wide, we finally found the recipe for having a good time. It is as follows:
1. Get a bike.
2. Find some other people with bikes of their own.
3. Go on a bike ride with the aforementioned bike-owning persons to various and sundry taco establishments.
4. Eat tacos.
5. Do some graffiti because you are in a group and are no longer subject to law and order.
According to this recipe, if you go to Bike Friendly Oak Cliff's communal bike ride this Saturday, you'll get your happy-meter filled to the brim. Meet other bikers at Small Planet eBikes before heading to Trompo Taco and then the new, not-even-open-to-the-public-yet Taco y Vino. In between the taco-tasting you'll take a pit stop at the Fabrication Yard Stop for a brief grafitti session.

Go to virtually any Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant on May 5 and you're bound to encounter some type of margarita special. The going rate seems to be $5 or $6. But good ol' El Fenix, with their corporate, nuclear yellow core, is shelling out margs for just one buck. That's right folks: the time to go rooting through the couch cushions and pant pockets is nigh. Find your dollars and make it rain margaritas.

The Tour de Brew is guaranteed to be a real tour de fource of drinking, eating and no one falling off their bikes, like, at all. The 10 mile fun-ride will include stops at four Design District breweries: Texas Ale Project, Peticolas, Pegasus and Noble Rey. Your $60 ticket includes a pint of your choosing at each brewery. It also includes a bike rental and tacos at the last stop, Tacos Mariachi.

Let's taco bout hackneyed food-based puns. If we've salsaid it once, we've salsaid it a thousand times: They're a literary avocad-no.
Actually, let's not talk about anything. Instead, let's hightail it to the third annual Fort Worth Taco Fest. Sample unlimited tacos from dozens of local taco hot-spots and enjoy cooking demos, theatrical performances and that priceless feeling of eating about four tacos too many. Adult tickets start at $30; children ages 6-13 will be admitted for $15.

You're really only one mint julep and a fancy hat away from the one percent. Well, that and all the money, but no has to know that. Feel like you're part of the upper crest at the 10th annual Day at the Races at Arlington Hall in Oak Lawn. This Kentucky Derby party will be replete with Southern eats, mint julep drinks and lawn games. Tickets start at $150 per person.
