The Museum of Nature & Science (1318 S. Second Ave.) is hosting another Beer & Bones "after-hours" party. -- not to be confused with a raging, post-bar sloshfest. Rather, the museum is staying open past its usual 6 p.m. close.
The first Beer & Bones took place March 24 and featured the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit. This time around, the museum is throwing a Chinasaurs Party, in which party-goers will have the chance to explore the science of ancient China. Experts will be there lighting stuff on fire as they explain to party-goers the science behind fireworks. Silk-making aficionado Michael Cook will also be there, walking through the steps of making silk, and there will be a scavenger hunt through the museum's exhibits.
DJ Mark Tresnicky will be spinning dance music -- yes, there's a dance floor -- and there will be a fully stocked bar serving up beer, wine and liquor (cash or credit cards). Snacks will be provided and The Museum Café will be open for those craving a bigger bite.
The party's from 7-10 p.m. tonight at the Museum of Nature & Science and costs $8 for members and $12 for non-members. Also, it is an 18 + event, so make sure to leave the kiddies at home.
