  • D-Town Boogie: The Do It Ourself Video

Here at DC9 this week, we took Pete's cover story to heart, especially this dig DJ Drop takes at folks in night clubs who try out the D-Town Boogie dances: "You can tell the people that are doing it right off YouTube. They're doing it right off the instructions."To those of us who'd never seen the Rack Daddy or the Ricky Bobby in a club, that sounded like a challenge. Below, see a few of the dances for yourself, as performed by our in-house dance crew. And after the jump, check the Youtube versi

"...then do da stanky legg?"Gotta give credit where it's due: The Fader (which, interestingly enough, has just combined advertising and sponsorship forces with Pitchfork media) was early to the Dallas hip-hop game, letting Play-N-Skillz, Tum Tum and Lil Wil showcase their side of Dallas for a feature about the local hip-hop scene. And, today, The Fader checks in on the Dallas hip-hop game again, offering up a free mp3 from Dallas' own Fat Bastard. The son

  • Dallas' Own Dorrough Is Walking The Chart Walk.

Dorrough reps the Central Expressway too, it seems...Looks like Dallas rapper Dorrough is making a name for himself on the national level. This week, Dorrough's "Ice Cream Paint Job" reached the No. 32 spot on Billboard's Rhythmic Radio chart, as well as No. 54 on the iTunes hip-hop sales chart (the mega-retailer is vending upwards of 5,000 copies of the track per week). And while it's not the best review ever--actually, it's kind of a slam (although, to be fair, as is the case with most modern, mainstream hip-hop, Dorrough Music's strength lies in its singles, not its complete album package)--it
