Wait, really? The Boss may have scored with a great Super Bowl halftime show.  But fans of Bruce Springsteen are a little upset that his band released its greatest hits record exclusively through Walmart.Late add: Erykah Badu gave birth to her third child yesterday. Your daily dose of national music news for Wednesday, February 11, 2009... That no talent ass-clown known as Paris Hilton apparently approached Sir Paul McCartney backstage at the Grammy's asking if he would consider doing a duet with her. I believe he answered by doubling over in laughter and then walking off shaking his finger while saying "That's a good one, that's a good one." There are no reports to confirm that last part. It looks like Rihanna's abuse suffered at the hands

  • Paul McCartney To Play Cowboys Stadium On Wednesday, August 19

Another coup for that spaceship out in Arlington: It's the Beatle's first Dallas show since 2005, and his sole Texas stop on his current North American tour. Perhaps most impresively, though, the press release announcing the show indicates that the concert should last a solid 2.5 hours. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 20, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Press release after the jump...

  • The First Time Paul McCartney Played Dallas

Pete's got the details concerning Paul McCartney's just-announced August 19 performance at Jerry Jones's EnormoDome in Arlington, I think it is? But, really, if you know anything about me, you had to know this was coming: the Beatles' interview with WFAA's Bert Shipp during the band's September '64 visit to Dallas, when the boys played Memorial Auditorium. After the jump, the entirety of the press conference.

  • Gig Alert: Hippiefest Tonight at Nokia Theatre

Yeah, yeah. I know that these oldie tours are an easy target for the cool, indie rock naysayers out there, but most of the acts on tonight's Hippiefest bill at Nokia Theatre are just a wee bit older than Aerosmith and ZZ Top, and I didn't hear anyone complaining about that recent gig. Anyhow, this is the third year that Nokia's hosted this event, and the line up has hardly changed. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though; besides Chuck Negron belting out those Three Dog Night chestn

  • Carry That Weight: Because Of 'Overwhelming Demand,' Live Nation Releases More Tickets To Paul McCartney's Cowboys Stadium Gig

Like with yesterday's announcement that, upon the completion of production details, more tickets were being released to the upcoming U2 show at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, today comes news that--again, upon the completion of "production details," whatever those are--more tickets are being released to Paul McCartney's Wednesday, August 19, gig at the spaceship. Unlike with yesterday's U2 announcement, though, today's comes with explanation: "overwhelming demand." Well, hell, I should hope so

Not worth a separate item these days because - yawn - The Ticket's dynasty just rolls on. Dunham & Miller and The Hardline have the equivalent of four-touchdown leads in morning and afternoon drive. The battle for No. 2, however, just got interesting. While The Ticket (No. 1 in the market) still dominates

Blame the set's start; though McCartney opened with the Beatles hit "Drive My Car," then immediately followed things up with one of Wings

  • Dallas Is The No. 7 Most Rockin' City In America This Summer, Believe It Or Not.

Ticket re-sale web site StubHub announced its annual "Most Rockin' City of the Summer" list this morning, and, according to its numbers, Dallas, is the No. 7 most rockin' city in the U.S. of A. this season. Or, for those of you playing at home, three spots up from last year. Now, to be fair, the numbers are completely StubHub-centric, based on which cities use the site most often to exchange tickets over the summer season. So take it as you will. Or take it in this context: Dallas is a more "r
