  • Live Nation Drops Lawn Prices For Select Shows

They're doing it again. Live Nation is offering $24.99 (and, in a couple cases, $19.99) lawn tickets for select Starplex (I still refuse to call it Superpages.com Center) shows today only during this week's installment of No Service Charge Wednesday. Until 11:59:59 tonight, lawn tickets purchased at Live Nation's Web site for shows including Lynyrd Skynyrd and Kid Rock, ZZ Top and Aerosmith, the Mayhem Festival and more will actually cost the prices at which they're listed. After the jump, a lis

  • AFI Dallas Is No More. But Debuting Next Spring, the Dallas International Film Festival.

Patrick MichelsMichael Cain, kicking off the 2009 AFI Dallas International Film Festival on March 26 at the AMC NorthParkIn September 2006, some local cineastes were terrified to learn that Michael Cain was shuttering his mom-and-pop Deep Ellum Film Festival and spending a little less than $1 million to license the Los Angeles-based American Film Institute's name and consultants. Sell out, they whispered, especially when it was announced that Target was ponying up around $1 million for above-the

Your daily dose of national music news for Wednesday, June 24, 2009...This really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone: Jay Bennett died of a drug overdose. The seminal emo-rockers in Sunny Day Real Estate are getting back together for a tour. Of course, you'd know this if you've been scanning the Granada's we bsite for tickets.

  • Last Night: The Warped Tour at Superpages.com Center

Vans Warped TourSuperpages.com CenterJuly 5, 2009 Better Than: falling asleep on the beach and getting a funny-looking tan. The weather could have been way worse for Sunday's Warped Tour date. It could have rained all day. Or it could have been sunny and extremely hot. Luckily, the weather fluctuated between cloudy, sunny, and overcast. In a lot of ways, that weather rundown sounds like the kinds of moods the entire day was for all things Warped.

  • Today In Music News: Jack White Likes Subscriptions, PATD Members Bail and Tweedy Opens Up

Your daily dose of national music news for Tuesday, July 6, 2009... Is the idea of getting a t-shirt, a 7" single and a 12" LP enough for you to spend $60 for a three-month subscription? Jack White certainly hopes so--his label Third Man launched a subscription service. Apparently teenage angst and a sweet, dance-y beats can only take you so far creatively. Two members of Panic at the Disco have left the band. Somewhere, a depressed tween will be crying into her Miley Cyrus pillow. Jeff Tw

  • MySpace To Host Free All-American Rejects Performance At The House of Blues on Monday, July 13

Myspace has been running a free concert series called The List--a pretty interesting deal in that, if you befriend The List's Myspace page on the networking site, you can get into certain free performances when the company decides to put them on in your city. And it's not just slouches offering up the free shows: Past concerts have included performances from Green Day, My Chemical Romance, The Roots, LCD Soundsystem, Smashing Pumpkins, Taking Back Sunday and Serj Tankian. Now, it's Dallas' turn.

  • Giveaway: One Pair of Tickets To The Fray PLUS HOT DOGS AND DRINKS

As part of Live Nation's continuing No Service Fee Wednesday (now going by the initials NSFW, which caused me to open the press release quite a bit quicker than I might have otherwise, I'll have to admit), Live Nation is once again offering tickets for select shows at an "all-in" ticket price of $29.99 each when purchased at livenation.com before midnight tonight. This week, they're throwing parking plus a free hot dog and soda into the deal. Follow the jump for the full list of concerts offerin

  • Today In Music News: The Get Up Kids Apologizes, Billy Joel Is Sick and Coldplay Heads To Springfield

Your daily dose of national music news for Tuesday, July 28, 2009... The Get Up Kids have formally apologized for a nation full of eyeliner and tight jean-wearing emo kids. Thank you, it's long overdue. Billy Joel and Elton John's Face 2 Face tour has been forced to cancel a few shows because Joel has "flu-like symptoms." Doesn't this happen every time they tour together? Coldplay are getting animated... on The Simpsons. Eat your heart out, Brave Combo.

  • Today In Music News: Kiss Get Own M&M's, Angels & Airwaves Gives It Away and Red Hot Chili Peppers Return To The Studio

Your daily dose of national music news for Tuesday, August 4, 2009... I would've thought the guys of Kiss would've thought of this one a lot sooner: Limited edition Kiss M&M's. Tom DeLonge may be touring with his old band Blink-182 this summer, but he still has his other band Angels & Airwaves on his mind. Next spring, that band will release a free album, Love, and movie of the same name. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will end a two-year hiatus and enter the studio this fall. Which mea
