In addition to Idol signed acts Here Holy Spain and The O's, both of which were announced in the second round of SXSW band announcements, the label has added roster members The Crash That Took Me and Shibboleth to its showcase lineup, plus new subsidiary label signees Little Black Dress. The show will take place Saturday night, at Mother Egan's Irish Pub on 6th Street.

  • SXSW 2009 Lineup Fully Announced.

This afternoon, SXSW unveiled its complete lineup of acts booked to play this year's festival. It's a lengthy list, and, honestly, it's kinda a bitch to troll through, unless you're looking for something specific. So we did the dirty work for you, hunting down the complete list of DFWd acts selected to perform at this year's shindig. The good news? This year's total tops last year's of 39 acts. The bad news? It only tops it by one act, putting the DFWd number for SXSW 2009 at 40.After the jump,

  • Announcing the Dallas Observer SXSW Showcase Lineup. For Real.

Hal SamplesTelegraph Canyon will kick off the night at Habana Bar on March 21.Every year at SXSW, our parent company, Village Voice Media, hosts a day-party concert filled with enticing national names. This year will be no different, I'm told, although the lineup card for this year's show hasn't yet been announced. We'll let you know as soon as it is. That said, we do have something else of an announcement to make: At this year's SXSW festival, we here at the Observer have been asked to host an

If you're looking for a more traditional bluegrass show, Ralph Stanley (of "Man of Constant Sorrow" fame) brings it to the Granada. Don't worry, it ain't all Americana this April. • M. Ward, Gomez, Cursive, Crystal Antlers and Bear Hands To Village Voice Media Day Party At SXSW

We alluded to this a few weeks back, but today comes confirmation of the lineup set to play our parent company's free-to-attend day party on Friday, March 20, at La Zona Rosa during this year's SXSW--a fairly impressive bill in my unobjective opinion, featuring at least two acts (guess!) who couldn't possibly be hotter at the moment. Check it out...1:00pm - 1:30pm: Bear Hands 1:45pm - 2:15pm: Crystal Antlers 2:30pm - 3:00pm: Cursive 3:15pm - 3:55pm: Gomez 4:15pm - 5:00pm: M. WardShould be a gre

  • Show Announcements: A Flock of Seagulls, Live, Def Leppard, more

This week's booking announcements comprises a pretty long list and features a few out-of-mind national acts--including A Flock of Seagulls, Live, and that band with the one-armed drummer. SXSW bookings are still coming in too, with a venue change for the Whispertown 2000. And, to top it all off, Lola's and the Longhorn out in Fort Worth have announced a couple of two-for-one admission deals. As usual, details after the jump.

Pete Freedman Phosphorescent captivates the crowd at Mohawk's Patio.Night two at SXSW 2009 very much encapsulated everything I love about SXSW: Writing down a schedule of shows to see, throwing it out the window and catching a whole different lineup of acts that were probably better than any of the ones you'd originally planned to see. • South-By On A Dime: Saturday

Well, my SXSW trip is over. I didn't manage to survive solely on day-party free food and beer the way I'd hoped to because doing so would have been at the sacrifice of other, better shows. Plus, my experience Thursday taught me not to trust a free-beer or free-food promise. My food expenses were far lower than I expected simply because I hardly ever had time to eat. I stopped for Whataburger at about 3 a.m. last night driving back when I realized that I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. The

Dallas' own Erykah Badu had herself quite the weekend, turns out. More eventful than yours, I'm guessing. Unless, that is, you somehow managed to......evade a stalker (as Unfair Park unearths this morning) and get delayed on your travels to SXSW....have your manager announce to the audience at your free SXSW Auditorium Shores performance--just before it was set to start--that you wouldn't be able to make it down because of "travel issues," as one source at the show told us on Saturday....have t
