No. 61 Asado De Puerco Rojo At Chitos
Fuel City and Good 2 Go aren't the only gas station taquerias in town. Chitos in Plano is tucked discreetly behind a Chevron station but is worth searching out for its many stellar renditions of Mexican food. The Asado De Puerco Rojo is a feisty conflagration of flavor that would make Red Rocker Sammy Hagar proud: Savory pork in a fire-engine-colored sauce that features New Mexican chiles, guaranteed to wake up your taste buds without extinguishing them with heat. Paired with very good rice and beans and perhaps a cooling horchata, this dish is a narrow winner over the sumptuous sopas and tasty tostadas that have already earned critics' praise. All at prices guaranteed not to burn a hole in your wallet.
