Jeffrey Yarbrough and Chad Boyle have taken over the popular Dallas drinking den Cedars Social and planned a number of changes in the weeks ahead. The announcement comes after previous owners Brian Williams and Michael Martensen stole headlines with their disagreements about the business.
Yarbrough says landlord Jack Matthews approached him after Williams agreed to terminate their business agreement. Yarbrough, who runs a PR company and is involved in commercial real estate in Dallas, teamed with Boyle and the two set out to keep one of Dallas’ most beloved cocktail dens from closing.
Michael Martensen is back as partial owner, but will not be involved in the operations of the restaurant. Jeremy Poyo will be returning as general manager, joining a team including brothers Mark and Dirk Kelcher, who are also opening Ron’s Place in Addison, and Michael Morris.
A chef, on the other hand, has yet to be named. Perhaps they’re talking to Michael Ehlert, who recently announced his departure from the Front Room. A spokesperson for the company says we can expect a new fall menu, but would not name prospective chefs.
