After Jojo Eating House and Bar in Uptown didn't work out, Dee Lincoln partnered with original investor, Michel Moreno, to repurpose the space at 2626 Howell St., adjacent to The Quandrangle.
This spot, which prior to Jojo was Bella, Mooyah and Tin Star, has struggled. Tacos, burgers, steaks and French-inspired Mediterranean fare have all come and gone. Lincoln brings with her a high-end restaurant résumé as co-founder of Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House and, more recently, the eponymous Dee Lincoln's Dining Room and Bubble Bar.
In September she'll open Dee Lincoln Steak and Burger Bar, with an "approachable menu with updated steakhouse fare and inventive burger recipes in a comfortable and relaxed setting."
The menu will offer various "unique" burgers, three cuts of steaks all sourced from Beeman Family Ranch and Windy Bar Ranch, according to a release. There will be daily specials of butcher's cut and "100 wines under $100." There will also be local beers, which should certainly all be under $25 per serving, along with craft cocktails made from Texas craft spirits.
Juliard Ishizuka has been anointed head chef. Ishizuka began his career working with his father as a cook at Royal Tokyo and, after graduating from the Aims Culinary Academy, worked at both Abacus and The Mansion. Most recently Ishizuka worked at Lincoln's Dining Room and Bubble Bar.
